This magnificently ornate Italian Carved Wood and Silver Gilded Overdoor has shell and acanthus leaf carvings and the swirling scrolls give a feeling of movement. The condition is good and the decoratively time worn patina shows the original gesso, red bole and tarnished silver gilding. This could be used for its original purpose or would make a wonderful headboard for a fabulously glamourous boudoir. Wherever it is used it will add a feeling or luxury to the décor and be a joy to live with.
