A charming early 20th Century lockable wine cage (cage du vin) typically found in the wine cellar of a French Chateau.  Made from wrought iron to hold up to 280 special standard sized wine or champagne bottles secure in the cellar; it was designed to be fixed to the wall with a hasp for securing with a padlock.  The finish is a wax over the lightly rusted metal giving a bronze patina.
