A superbly proportioned, 19th century, circa 1850, antique Painted Pine Housekeeper’s Pantry Cupboard that is country in origin and full of character with its panelled doors, well fitted and interesting interior and functional drawers. Cupboards of this era provide abundant storage with classic style and were definitely built to last and this fine example would be an excellent addition to any space.

Please look at all the photos to get a closer look at this wonderful piece and the interesting interior and plethora of storage space; it really would work well anywhere in the home whether as a conversation piece in the main living areas or bedrooms or as the perfect piece for free-standing kitchens, a pantry or laundry room.

The carcass has a pleasing fixed moulded cornice to the top, panelled sides, 2 panelled doors with original brass hinges and brass latch which open to reveal an interior with a natural pine finish consisting of 2 fixed shelves.  The upper and lowest areas are open; the upper area is fitted with cup hooks.  The centre section is split into two sections - on the left is a door with a brass stay revealing a subdivision with 2 small sections atop one another and to the right of this is a further open area. Below the doors are 2 drawers and below these are 2 further deep drawers. The original tarnished brass knobs are fitted to the doors and drawers as appropriate.

This large storage piece with its ample shelving and drawers easily adapts to your needs and would pair well with both a modern or traditional décor and would be at home in the kitchen or utility area as a practical piece or within a living room or dining room as a conversation piece that brings both function and style to your interior.

It is in good, used antique condition throughout although there are various signs of age and wear and some historic repairs but overall it is a good solid piece; the door and drawers open and close as they need to and frame is firm.
