This is a truly beautiful French early 19th Century (circa 1830-1845) water gilded Louis Philippe period mirror with arched top and crest and original mercury backed mirror plate and backboards. The moulded frame with foliate sgraffito decoration and beading the original burnished gilded finish make this an absolute joy to behold.  It is beautifully time worn to reveal the red bole base coat and the original mercury backed mirror plate has some minor age appropriate foxing.
