This wonderful 19th Century English William IV Library Chair with Mahogany show wood has a beautiful sculptural shape dating back to circa 1830.   It is extremely comfortable and has been fully reupholstered in tan leather by an artisan in the traditional method with a deep button back and the brass studding shown is continued under the separate seat cushion.  The show wood mahogany pilaster arms terminate with turned roundels and have carved decoration details which match and mirror the legs.  It would certainly enhance the décor of any room it graces.

The general condition of this stunning chair is good, which is a fair description of most antique and vintage items.  The show wood remains in the original condition; it is fair to say that it is best to leave this in the original condition where possible as it this that gives the beautiful time worn patina.  Whilst not having its original castors these have been replaced sympathetically with time worn alternatives.    The form and functionality are not detracted from in any way by the age, condition or restoration of this piece.
